Race Day Info &
Packet Pickup

Hello Runners!

We are very excited to bring you the Isle du Bois Trail Race this year as part of our ongoing commitment to locally operated and supported races. IDB is just a few days away and we wanted to make sure that everyone had the most up to date information regarding packet pickup, start times and amenities on the trail.

The race will be held at the Lake Ray Roberts - Isle du Bois Unit in Pilot Point, Texas on December 2, 2017. Packet pickup will be at the DORBA trailhead inside the park from 2:00-5:30 pm on Friday, December 1 and before the race on Saturday, December 2 beginning at 6:00 am at the starting area by the restrooms directly behind the DORBA trailhead. When entering the park for packet pickup or on race day, let the rangers know that you are there for the race and they shouldn't charge you an entry fee, they have been included in your race fees.

Directions to the DORBA trailhead are:
From Denton take I35 north to Sanger. In Sanger take the FM455 exit and go east on FM-455 toward Pilot Point. The park entrance is 2 miles after you cross the Lake Ray Roberts Dam on FM-455.
From Frisco take HWY 289 (Preston Road) north to HWY 380. Take HWY 380 west to HWY 377. Take HWY 377 north to FM-455 (this is before Pilot Point). Take FM-455 west to the park entrance. The trailhead is near the end of the main park road. When you see the road leading downhill straight to the lake, look for the trailhead parking area on the right (boat ramp on left).

Start times are as follows:
55k Start             7:30 am (3 loops)
37k Start             8:00 am (2 loops)
18k Start             8:30 am (1 loop)
5M Start              9:00 am (1 short loop)
55k Cutoff    Last loop started by 1:30 pm. (Trailhead Aid Station)

As with all of our trail races, this is a cupless event and runners will need to provide their own hydration system (handheld, hydration pack etc.). Aid stations will be stocked with a variety of sweet and salty snacks as well as Hammer Nutrition products for electrolytes and some gels and Krave Jerky will also be available. If you have bitten off more than you can chew and need to drop down from a longer distance to a shorter distance, please let us know at packet pickup on Friday or before your race starts on Saturday and we will take care of you. Once you've started, you are in for the duration! If you drop down to a shorter distance, refunds will not be given.

There are three main aid stations: Trailhead, North Pole and Last Call. Drop bags may be left at the Trailhead aid station and will only be available at that aid station. 5 mile will only see the Last Call aid station at 2.75 miles, the other distances will see North Pole at 5.3, Last Call at 8.9 miles (3.6 miles between aid stations) and Trailhead at 11.4 (2.5 miles between aid stations).

Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd place finishers in each category (M/F Open and Masters). All finishers will receive a medal.

There will be at least one food truck on site throughout the day, please bring cash or a card for post-race indulgences.

Last of all, we want everyone to have a successful and enjoyable experience so make sure that you are listening to your body. The weather should be beautiful but it may be unseasonably warm. We will have plenty of ice on hand if the need arises.

Make sure that you have joined the event page on Facebook for up to the minute information. For immediate response, please send messages through the event page.
